# Understanding the Build Lifecycle

## Submitting a Build

To submit a build, make a POST request to the /builds endpoint. Include your code and configuration in the request body.

## Acceptance Criteria

The build process will verify your code against a set of acceptance criteria. These criteria ensure that your code meets the required standards for quality and functionality.

## Stack Type

The stackType parameter specifies the technology stack your code is built upon. Ensure you select the correct stack type for accurate verification.

## Polling vs Streaming

You can monitor the build process using either polling or streaming. Polling involves periodically checking the build status, while streaming provides real-time updates.

## Terminal States

The build process can reach one of several terminal states, including SUCCESS, FAILURE, and CANCELLED. Each state indicates the outcome of the build verification.
